絆 Kizuna Book Clubs

JAMP hosts two online book clubs designed to foster 絆 kizuna, strong bonds and connections, within the Japanese American community. Our book clubs highlight the works of Japanese and Nikkei authors as well as Japanese traditional and childrens’ stories.

絆Kizuna Reading Circle

This monthly book club is designed to foster strong connections (絆 kizuna) within the Nikkei community through our shared exploration of books. We focus primarily on Japanese and Nikkei authors and Japanese American history. We meet every first Sunday of the month at 3p PT / 6p ET for 90 minutes. Hosted by JAMP board member, Katie Fujiye Nuss Louis.

絆Kizuna Story Circle

絆 Kizuna Story Circle is a intergenerational story time designed to share stories and memories through introducing traditional Japanese stories while helping them learn some Japanese. The story circle is designed to create strong bonds (絆 kizuna) between grandparents, parents, and children. Each meeting we will hear a traditional Japanese or childrens’ story in Japanese and English. We meet every first Sunday of the month at 4:30p PT / 7:30p ET for 30 minutes. Hosted by JAMP board member, Ayano Kuraishi.
